Dining room art competition
Over the last few months, our school catering committee have been working with staff to think of ways of improving our surroundings when we eat at lunchtime in school. The building work and new furniture is all in place now and the walls are decorated with some very tasteful pictures!
Each year we will have two pictures from pupils in each year group and this year the theme is “Landmarks of the North-east of England”. Entrants had to think carefully, not only about which landmark but also which materials they wanted to use and the composition of their work.
The winning entries are framed and displayed in the dining room, but also in the corridor are a selection of pictures which we thought were worthy of being seen by everyone – well done!
The winners in our 2007 competition were: Chris Maynard and Isobelle Cooper in year 8, Anna Darcy and Emily Hanvey in year 7, Josh Robertson and Yasmin Williams in year 6 and Matilda Cornall and Romney Gwynn in year 5.
