Children from Old Earth Primary School in West Yorkshire visited Seahouses Middle.  They were the guests of year 5 who have sent letters, powerpoint presentation, minibooks  and portraits to their pen pals and in reply they have received letters, computer presentations and a video all about Old Earth School.

They were greeted with snacks and drinks and had to find the people they had been corresponding with.  They were entertained each other with music using the steel pans, local songs and a North East quiz. Even though the weather was not on the bright side and the winds were quite strong Old Earth School continued their adventures by going on a boat trip to the Farne Islands. A disco was held in the evening.

It was a pleasure entertaining children from another region of England.

Year 5 have been studying coastlines and finding out about the features often found on them, and how the amount of energy produced by waves effects the amount the sea erodes the coastline. They then consolidated their learning by creating the features in 3D displays. The features include : bays, beaches, headlands, arches, stacks, sand dunes, cliffs, sea walls and groynes.
