Seahouses Middle School is very fortunate in having an excellent ICT facility. It has grown over the recent years, and we are now able to offer pupils:
- ICT 1 with 20 desktop computers where discrete ICT is taught in half groups, each group getting 2 hours per week
- ICT 2 with 35 desktop computers where whole classes can access ICT across the curriculum
- 35 laptops that can be used with full classes in their own rooms
- 35 PDAs which are used by Year 8 pupils to allow 24/7 access to modern technology
- Interactive White Boards in all classrooms
- A variety of digital cameras
Having this type of technology at their fingertips allows the pupils to access the latest information, produce effective presentation of work and learn from the latest resources available. It also prepares them for their working environment, as computers find there way into every aspect of the workforce.
Pupils confidently use their ICT skills and capabilities across the curriculum, producing quality work in all spheres.
Year 5
In ICT Year 5 have been getting to know the keyboard, where the keys are and what different keys can do.
They have also been learning about the tools they can use when creating a Microsoft Word document.
The “Rules for using the ICT room” combine these two skills.

Year 6
Year 6 have been using the tools in Microsoft Word to create interesting copies of their timetable, thinking about continuity, and appropriate presentation of their work. Click on each piece of work below for an example.
Year 7
Year 7 can use Control Insight to write procedures to control the actions of objects they set up in an environment. Here are some examples of their work.
