Physical and man-made features of Coastlines

Year 5 have been studying coastlines and finding out about the features often found on them, and how the amount of energy produced by waves effects the amount the sea erodes the coastline. They then consolidated their learning by creating the features in 3D displays. The features include : bays, beaches, headlands, arches, stacks, sand dunes, cliffs, sea walls and groynes.

Shopping Project

As part of their research into people’s shopping habits, Year 8 pupils visited Berwick to compare two supermarkets, Aldi and Morrisons. Pupils looked at the layout of the stores, which countries supplied the produce and found out about the various jobs. They also interviewed the public in the town centre about their shopping habits.

Back in school, all the information was collated and pupils worked in groups of three to use ICT to present what they had found out.
